Have you ever thought about how every big goal or dream is hundreds or thousands of small, tiny steps? Sometimes, when we are feeling stuck, what is holding us back is that we still need to make space to ask ourselves what the possible next steps might be. And then to take it.

For one thing, breaking down our goals into manageable pieces builds momentum. In addition, taking action works magic to silence our inner critic. According to scientists, we even get a boost of serotonin when we set out to do something and complete it early in the day.

It can be as simple as making a phone call, researching for a few minutes, or buying a notebook to step into our creative momentum. What we learn from phone calls or web searches can move things forward. Likewise, the rush of picking the perfect stationery can unleash ideas for the next big project. Incremental tiny baby steps combined can create the life of our dreams. There are millions of steps in making a masterpiece, and 20,000 words in a Novella.

When we focus on the next step, we are immediately back in the flow of life, and it's almost magical how the path can open up before us. So next time you're struggling with feeling stuck, ask yourself what small next step you could take. Is there one thing that you could do today to move your next project forward?
